Happy Halloween!

Wow...I haven't posted in over a month! Darn that Facebook Farmville! Not a lot new going on around here, which is a good thing! Went to Lyman and St. George, Bradley's been studying hard-going to take the Praxis in January, and Jada's just been awesome, turning into a little girl.

Some yummy caramel apples that Amy and I made the other night, so naughty!

Here is the beginning of putting on Jada's costume tonight--she knew something was up when I came at her with this big green thing.

The candy helped though.

She wasn't loving the arms of the costume.

But once it was on she had a blast! She ran around all night, and Trick Or Treated at probably 6 or 7 houses! She was so cute! Wouldn't say Trick Or Treat, just a bunch of T noises. We went around with Lezlie, Shana, and all the kiddos, they all looked awesome. We started at around 5 and were the only ones out there, ppl wouldn't even answer their doors.

Ribbit! Ribbit! Didn't even plan the matching Binky! Ha.

We also had to make our annual trek down to CornBelly's! It was cold, and she is still too little to really like it, But she sure loved the cow train! She moo-ed the whole time.

Can't wait for the holidays! This is my favorite time of year, minus the snow! We already got a little snow up here and it came way too soon. It's so pretty though, I love driving to work up in Alpine, it's been SO pretty lately with all the fall colors and then the new snow, love it.

Wow, being a mom is so great. Jada is so into hugs and kisses lately, it's the best feeling. She can communicate so much more now, and it makes it a lot easier and more fun. I can't believe she is already 17 months, time flies. It will be nice to start nursery next month, it's been a while since I was able to listen for all three hours. I'm so happy she has been doing so good at daycare too--it's been so nice.

Hopefully I won't wait over a month to blog again! Sorry family!

Winter time blues

I just had to post a picture of the new bibs and jacket I got for Jada for this winter. I know, I know...it's still summer and very warm here...but I just couldn't resist! So...I tried them on her, and yep-she wasn't too happy about it! She freaked!! She kept grabbing at it and trying to rip it off, and then she would put her face on the ground and cry, it was way funny. She looked so cute in it though!! Now I am a little excited for the snow!

Dermatology in Utah was never so easy!

Nothing to blog about!

We don't have too much going on around here, but it's a good thing! Things have been great, so it's been nice.  We went to Laramie, WY last weekend to see the WYO and Texas game, and it was a blast! We stayed with Bradley's sister Bridget, and everything was so nice. Jada did really great on the drive (6 hours), and she slept really good while we were there---that always makes for a good trip!!!  Bridget had this big walk in closet so I set the pack n play up in there, and she loved it! It's always a blast to hang out with family and get away from the usual for a bit. I had to post a pic of her hair-it's finally growing a little--but I don't know what to do with it! Bradley thinks I do it like a boy, with a part on the side...and then the back is starting to curl out so she has a little duck tail--it's pretty dang cute--but like I said--I have no clue what to do with it! Kasse--help!!

This is here typical camera face! Another picture mom? Come on!!
We were hanging out last night with the TV on, and she wouldn't take her eyes of the TV--she is so funny!  At her 15 month appt. Dr. Knorr told us that she was the height of the average 2 1/2 yr old--so if ppl acted irritated because they think she is older and acting like a 15 month old, that we shouldn't let it bother us!  She's in the 120% on height, and I swear she grew like 3 inches in the past month. All her footed pj's that were way too big last month, now she can't even straighten her legs in them!
She LOVES the TV, always wants to watch Baby Einstein or Preschool Prep, and this is her typical TV pose, hands on the entertainment center and legs crossed all casual. She is such a cutie, I love it.  She's cutting 4 molars and got 3 hard shots on Monday, and she is still a little angel-we are so lucky. I bought this book called Christlike Parenting, and it's really good--you all should check it out.

My baby blues.....

Why does this little child have to melt my heart? I'm butter in her hands....
*She's so sassy, and yet so sweet
*I love how she points to our pictures and says our names
*Cracks me up how high her voice gets when she says "Teddy!"
*It kills me how she will be off in her own little world and as soon as I start singing wheels on the bus, she is instantly quiet and staring at me like something BIG is going to happen
*So crazy how multiple times I have heard her soft little whining in the night and I go in and her entire pj's soaking wet with pee...I would be screaming at the top of my lungs if I was her!
*So cute how she gets all close and looks you in the eyes and draws you in, then in a flash she scratches your face! (happened this morning...)
*I love how lately she smells so good...I don't know what it is, but I love it
*She lifts each leg for me to put shoes/socks/pants on her
*runs everywhere, and thinks she can walk down our stairs face first like a big person
*still cuddles so sweet at night
*loves loves loves to splash in the bath, for hours if I'd let her
*laughs so hard if I jump up and down while holding her, especially when she's tired
*total daddy's girl, can get him to do whatever she wants

This one's for the girls!

Actually not girls, just girl. Katelin.

Here's J, stylin' in her new-Old Navy 50% off clearance =$1.25-tank, bread in hand and in the living room, of course.
And here she is before the paddle, and after the paddle. Do you see a difference. Nope? Neither do I. Blasted dull pain receptors!!! Ha ha! Love you Kate--see you in 2 weeks! (P.s.-need a ride home from the aeropuerto???)

We'll miss you Phil

Bradley's cousin Philip and his wife and 2 children were in a car accident early this morning and Philip was taken to the U of U in SLC and put on life support. We were able to be next to him today as he left this world and moved on to be with his Heavenly Father, Grandpa Toomer, and his Dad.
Our prayers go out to his wife Michelle and to the Toomer/Sorensen family. We know that Phil is in a better place now, and we are so grateful that he has an eternal family and we will all see him again soon.
We love you Phil and will miss you very much-give Grandpa a hug for us!

Family Time

Things have been really great for the most part here. Jada is still LOVING her babysitter, I can't even explain how happy it makes me. She cries when we pick her up now!! All the other kids there just love her and play with her all day, and Elaine, the sitter, she is awesome. And when she is out of town she has this other woman across the street watch Jada, and she is amazing too! I feel so blessed to have found them. It makes me so glad for that bad experience at the other daycare--It was so hard to go through, but now I can look back and think: I'm so glad that happened, because look what I have now!!!

Last weekend my family came up from St. George to spend a few days with us, it was so nice!! We went to Tibble Fork Reservoir, it was beautiful.

Jada had a blast, she just wanted to be in the water/mud the whole time!! What a cutie!

Jada got SO muddy, it was in her eye cracks and her butt crack (which I found later!).

Not to mention all over me! She loved it though, so it was worth all the stinky, slimey black mud :) Please excuse my no make-up scariness.

After Tibble Fork we went over to this park in Cedar Hills, we call it the wooden park, I'm not sure what it's really called, but it is SWEET! Even I had a blast there! The whole park is made of wood, and there are TONS of cool things to explore and climb and get lost in. I think I've said it before, but if you live in the area and have kids, then you should totally go there!

Our weekend adventures...

My friend at work (Alex) says that we are gone every weekend! It's true...I don't know how we still have our Sunday School calling. I'm finally posting some pictures of the past few weeks.
Jada and I went down to St. George at the end of June for a family reunion, it was a lot of fun! Bradley couldn't go because he had a Saturday class that he couldn't miss, so it was just us ladies....but the drive went great (what a relief!) and we had a blast with the family!
Any of you that live in STG, you should FOR SURE check out this park at Little Valley, that's where we had our reunion, and it was so fun! I even had a blast on the cool "toys" they have there. Just don't take your shoes off when you are on that spongey material, it gets really hot and I burnt my feet till they blistered-it was miserable. Other than that we had a blast though!!!
Then over the 4th we went camping up by Cokeville in Wyoming, it was a Toomer family reunion and it was a lot of fun too! Tons of awesome food, I love dutch oven anything, and great company! It was so beautiful where we went, I loved it. Jada had a blast exploring and getting dirty-she loves the dirt! We were going to float this awesome river, but it was too high this year, next year for sure guys!!
Jada, stuck in a cage.
Here are some dang cute pictures of my little monkey. She is getting so tall and big--everyday I swear she grows more. She doesn't want any more baby food, that mushy stuff is nasty--she only wants the good stuff! Lots of PB&J, Ravioli, watermelon, and milk!! She's so funny...she will eat pretty much anything that we are eating, but not eggs. Which is a bummer because I love eggs and they are easy to make. Maybe one day :)

Jada is so funny lately. All she wants is to be read to, especially if you are paying attention to something else...for example: reading your own book, watching T.V., on the phone. She will promptly Frankenstein walk into her room and grab a book, run back and throw it on your lap and make this little squeal noise while giving you puppy dog eyes, which I interpret as: read this or I will make a big ugly scene.

My Grandma sent this cute little dress in the mail, so we had a little photo shoot for her...she was so happy! I would run from her and then she would chase me and laugh so hard, and that's when my finger would go snap snap snap!

OK mom, enough pictures already!!

Jada at 13 months!

*Walks around everywhere, and LOVES to have her "squeaky shoes" on!
*Will play under the kitchen table all day, and gets caught and tangled up in the chair legs
*Makes moo cow sounds and monkey sounds when asked
*Loves to dance and bounce to music
*Blows kisses (so sweet!)
*Started cuddling a little bit again, I've been missing it
*Also started this new little whiny squeal that is so irritating!!
*Totally a daddy's girl, always wants him when she gets hurt
*Loves to smack your face with her hand out of no where
*Holds her feet in the air for you when getting a diaper change
*Started actually keeping on hats and bows again
*Hardly ever sits still, but sometimes she'll surprise you and lay in your lap for like 10 minutes (10 mins of heaven!)
*Loves to be outside all the time, eating rocks and dirt
*Wants to climb up on everything, she's so strong
Wishes her daddy a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

My baby girl is doing so good! This babysitter is AWESOME!! Jada loves her...she will reach for her and not even cry/care when I leave her there!! Today she was saying how she was nervous about taking on a baby, but that Jada likes her so much it's like having her own child there, and the other kids love her, so it's been great. I can't even describe how big of a relief this is for me. Today when I dropped her off I was grinning like an idiot, practically skipping down her driveway to my car. SO EXCITING! I think we are just a little paranoid now from that experience with that other sitter-she ruined us! Now whenever I leave her with a babysitter I feel all nervous like she is going to cry the whole time or something. But guess what? It was just that lame lady!! Anyway, I think I'm going to take my mother's advice and just keep thinking that daycare is not permanent, and it can change at any time! Then maybe it won't be such a surprise when it does change.
Last night we went to a BBQ for Bradley's work, it was tons of fun...lots of laughs! He works with a great group. Kolby and Amy watched Jada for us, I'm sure she showed them a rocking good time!
I love this picture...she was so tiny.

6.16.2009

HOORAY!

I just wanted to post really quick and say that Jada did so awesome at her first day of daycare yesterday! She barely cried at all, napped, smiled, laughed, played, gave hugs....all day! You know that feeling you get the morning before you have to give a talk in sacrament or something like that? Well that's how I felt all yesterday while she was at the new daycare....and then Bradley called me and told me she did awesome!! I feel like a giant weight was lifted off my shoulders! This morning she didn't even cry when I dropped her off, I hope it continues! I can't believe how much this daycare stuff stresses me out, it's just so hard to find someone that can take good enough care of someone that means more than anything in the world to you. I'm just happy that this great lady is taking care of my baby for me!

This is a really LOUD movie of Jada walking, sorry it's turned sideways! She's pretty wobbly in this video, but she walks all over now!

Finally a post!

I have been wanting to blog for a while now, but my computer has been wacky!! Jada turned 1! We had such a fun birthday party for her...we had a BBQ and most of our family was able to come...tons of great food and PRESENTS galore! We made a whole day out of it! And the cake part was SOOOOO funny, Jada went to TOWN! She loved loved loved the cake, and finally pulled it onto her lap so she could eat it better! She was spoiled rotten, it was great!
I felt like I was having another birthday!
P.S. Costco cakes are so naughty!

Here are some more random pictures of her, she is getting so many teeth! She has 6 on the bottom and 4 on the top, and more coming! I love her little smile, it's so big and beautiful. AND she is a little walking lady now! She walks everywhere, especially over this weekend!
Bradley's sister Tiffany has been helping us out and watched Jada for a week, and then Bradley's mom and Travis came the next week and watched her! They have helped us out so much, its been so great to have them here. We've been having daycare woes...again...but we are starting her somewhere new on Monday, so wish us luck!! She comes highly recommended so that's good.
Bradley's mom took Jada to Wyoming Thurs. through Sat., so B and I had a few date nights which was SO nice. We went to the new Draper temple for the first time, and it is awesome! It is so modern and organic inside, all the gorgeous fabrics and colors and furniture, it is so pretty in there. We also watched this movie called FOREVER STRONG, about the Highland UT Rugby team, it is a way good movie! Today we met up with B's fam at the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house, which was also great, and reminded me a lot of the Draper temple. I've never been to an open house before, it's really cool to walk through before, so beautiful. Afterwards we went to Red Robin, which was so good---but it was crazy too because while we were sitting there the Red Robin "mascott" came walking by and was waving to Jada and she FREAKED OUT! First of all she started bawling, it was so sad because the whole rest of our lunch there she was trembling and shaking, and she would whip her head around all the time and look for the bird dude and then whimper and grab onto me really tight...it was really sad. I hated it--looks like we won't be going there for a while.

Happy Birthday Jada!

How fast time flies!!! I can't believe my teeny tiny baby is a big girl one year old! It really doesn't feel like we've had her for a year now....time feels so different, the older I get. She took 8-9 steps yesterday while I was at work, and she only walks when she thinks we aren't watching. She's so dang sweet...I love it. Yesterday I was trying to get her to take a nap and she was giggling so much, it was hilarious. I was holding her, trying to rock her and calm her a little, and she would look at me and I would say in my most serious voice "time to go nigh nigh", and then she would turn and giggle into my chest, and then I would laugh, and then she would laugh even harder and make her crazy pterodactyl screaming noise, it was so funny! I love her so much!! Being a mom is the greatest!

5.26.2009

I haven't posted in a while...I keep saying I want to post more but then I don't! Anyways, again things have been a little crazy around here. You know that awesome babysitter that we found that Jada was doing really good at? Well....last Friday the lady told us that she couldn't take Jada anymore. (!!!!!????!!?!??!?!) Basically, for some reason the lady couldn't get her to take a nap, when she is used to sleeping for about 2 hours at nine...so of course J was SO cranky whenever she wasn't being held. So basically she just felt like she has too many kids there and can't spend enough time with Jada and what not and when J would cry is was disruptive. I was so bummed out when Bradley told me...STRESS!! I guess it was mainly so bad because I really felt like this woman was our last resort, and I was SO happy we found her, and then it turned out like this, so I'm thinking what the heck are we going to do? Well Bradley's cousin, sister, and mom are all going to take shifts for the next 3 weeks, so that makes me feel SO much better. AND---a while ago 2 ppl in my ward recommended this woman that lives a couple streets over from us, but the woman has always been full and couldn't take Jada, but I just called her yesterday and she has an opening for an infant!! So I am going to meet her tomorrow AM, and hopefully it works out.

Memorial Day was a lot of fun, we went to this triathalon with Lezlie (Bradley's cousin) and her family, which was way fun and we BBQ'd like twice and what not, and then we watched this awesome movie Hot Rod!

Here's J finding something shiny, no suprises there.

She'll take like 2 steps now and then grab back on to whatever, it's so cute! I wish she would walk more though, so then she could play outside more and not put everything at eye level (dirt, rocks, bugs) in her mouth!!

The beginning of the TRI, so fun!

Gorgeous woman, wearing lots of blue and looking BOY-ish to me! Good thing she has those earrings!!

TROUBLE!! You turn around for 2 seconds and look what happens!

Jada in Daddy's truck in her new big girl seat...so tired....which stinks because when she falls asleep in it she looks SO uncomfortable. She has this nasty sunscreen all over her face and it got way crusty--won't be using that again-Aveeno baby SPF 40.

Jada's first black eye (it's totally faded in this pic), compliments of me, I lovingly dropped a bottle of tylenol on her face in the middle of the night when she was sound asleep. Not a happy point in J's life!!
Things are going good though, Bradley only has one class this first block of summer, which is awesome! We get to actually spend nights together!! The weather up here is great, and Jada turns 1 in 2 days!! We are going to have a family BBQ on Saturday and all our families are coming, I am really excited. I will for sure post some pics then, and then I can finally finish our Blog Book! I was waiting for J's first birthday to publish it so it was a full year of her life...so exciting!! I can't believe it's already been a year, it's been so wonderful and just FLOWN by so fast. A few months ago she still only had her 2 bottom teeth, and I just kept wondering when she was going to get more...well I shouldn't have even wondered because now she has like 8, that she got all at once! I'm sure that didn't help the daycare situation either!!

5.07.2009

SUMMER!!!

So I just realized I haven't posted since all our "craziness" was going on! It turns out Jada got really sick with a virus that 3rd day of daycare, so I think that's why it was so hard. This is the end of the 3rd week, and she is doing so much better. It's been great! I didn't know if it ever would when I was in the heat of it all...but imagine that, it did. I love Thursdays because I don't go into work till after 11, so I get to hang out all morning with Baby J, and that's when she is SO happy, I love it! Today I hung out with Jada all morning and then Bradley and J and I went to lunch at my new all time favorite place Zupas, so the day has been GREAT so far!!! Things have been pretty great since that crazy week last month--minus this lame cough that Bradley and I have had for the past 2 weeks. Jada's top teeth are coming in and it's so funny!! The one is like halfway in, and the other is just poking through, it looks way funny...I'm always doing things to make her smile so I can look at her teeth-she will NOT let me hold her mouth open or push her lips back. I had to post a pic of Bradley's birthday present to me...I love lilies.

Craziness in the Toomer household...

Wow....things have been crazy this past week or so! And my space bar on my keyboard is not working well, it's irritating to type so who knows how long this post will be. So, the past 2 months we have been SOOOOOOOOOOO Lucky to have a good friend watch Jada for 3 hours in the AM 5 days a week...and it was FREE--we were trading babysitting. Anyways, her schedule changed and she couldn't do it anymore, so last week we went through the process of trying to find DAYCARE....a very daunting task up here. There are only a few ppl that take kids under 2, and if they do they are usually full already! So, Friday morning we went over and took a tour of 2 different in-home day cares, and pretty much I would quit my job before we would've gone to either of those places. I was so stressed out about it, and really bummed because both of those ladies sounded great over the phone. We had one more interview that afternoon...and low and behold she ended up being great! Her house was beautiful and clean, and very baby friendly, and she has been doing it for 20 years, and is great. So, we decided to start taking her there as of Monday. Well...the past two days she has cried pretty much the entire time she was there, and won't take a nap and won't eat. I knew that she would need to adjust, but it's going to be hard. And to top it off she has FOUR teeth coming in, so she is not a happy camper. It's so hard to leave her there, I just want to cry when I leave, especially now that she has been crying so much. I know it's only been two days, and I know she won't remember any of this, but I totally feel like I am abandoning her there with strangers...man daycare is SO hard. I just keep telling myself it will get better, but the past couple days have been hard. So...advice, anyone??

Conference is always so amazing

Wow, President Monson, he blows me away. He is such an inspiring man, and so wonderful to listen to. I can't believe that story he told about the woman who lost her husband and four children...and had to bury them with a spoon and her hands. I can't even imagine what that would be like, what that could do to you. I felt like they talked so much about the Temple, and I know that I need to go there more often. The Gospel is so amazing, I'm so grateful to have found it. My sweet angel is standing on her own now, just about to take steps any day now...it's so fun to see her change and progress...motherhood is the greatest gift.

Where did spring go?

We just got home from the alumni tournament in Lyman last weekend, and now we are going to St. George tomorrow! We have been busy busy! Wyoming was so much fun...we had a great time with the family! And sadly...it's true...I gained 10 pounds. Ha! The tournament was awesome...I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!! Hopefully we'll get a win next year!!! We are excited to go down to STG and get some warm weather time in! It was so nice up here 2 weeks ago, and all the sudden everything is covered in snow again! Super bummed! And we just waxed the car too.... Anyways, Jada will be 10 months this weekend...super big girl now! Pretty soon she will be one...and then 5...and then 18!!!!! Oh man!

3.10.2009

Blah Blah Blah...!

Jada Jada Jada....how come you grow so fast? Today I shimmied into the back cab of the truck to get Jada & carseat out...and then I had to lift her up and over the driver's seat (as I have done many many times before), but oh man was it hard today! She grows so much every day!!
Things have been great for us...Bradley got a new job and is working in the mornings, we have an AWESOME friend that watches Jada for us for those few hours...it's been great. It's been pretty low key around here though, nothing huge happening in the Toomer home! Lots of yummy dinners and fun nights at home with each other, watching 30 Rock and Office, and lots of reading together.
I have started up reading my scriptures every night since January with my DEAR FRIEND Katelin, and then we "discuss" things that we've read with eachother, and it's been awesome. I can't believe how much better I feel from doing something so simple like that, it's been a great experience.
Jada is amazing, she is so big, almost walking now! I can't believe it--I know I say it every blog! She's just so big now! It's great. I can't wait for it to warm up so we can play outside all the time...that will be really nice!
Here's a little clip of Jada being funny!

My angel girl...

Everyday I think she grows noticeably bigger than the day before...it's crazy! I feel like she is a little girl now, not a baby. Last night she got up around 3:30 am, and I was super bummed that I had to get up, but when I went in there she was wide awake and smiling so big--she totally melts my heart. We sat in the lazy boy and she cuddled me and patted my shoulder and hummed in my ear for like 45 minutes. It was so sweet. I swear she was comforting me that I had to get up or something. Why is she so dang cute! Another funny thing...I remember before I had her, and I would see little kids doing certain things and I would think to myself "I will never let my child do that", and now...I totally let her! Hey, whatever keeps her happy! She has been pretty sick with a virus from Monday till about Thurs. night...it was so sad. It's the first time she has been sick enough to take her to the doctor, her fever was 104...but of course her ears and throat were fine, so she just had to ride it out. So sad. She's doing great now though, so that's nice!

Random thoughts and needles and 6 degree weather.

I painted more in Jada's room, I think I am done for now--but at least she has a little something to look at while she's getting changed. I always call her my little dove, so now she has a birdy to look at! Having this little angel in our home is so amazing. I used her as an example in our Sunday school class, to try to become like a little child...and it's so true. She is so pure and innocent, and yet her spirit is so strong. Every time I look at her it just hits me so hard that she is such a miracle. I still can't believe that she came from me...it's unreal--it really doesn't feel real. The whole pregnancy and birth...it's starting to feel like a fuzzy dream, like it was a story I read or movie I watched. It's great to go back on my blog and read different posts, and I start to remember little things and how vivid they were.

A girl I work with is going out with a police officer, and she was telling me about this call he went out on, this woman had accidentally backed over her little girl and she passed away. I just keep thinking about how precious little children are and how you never know how long you have with them, and it makes me want to cherish every moment. Motherhood is amazing...it makes your heart so full, what an amazing gift.

So last Friday at work I accidentally got stuck with a dirty needle, which was scary! So now I get the ultimate pleasure of going to get tested for HIV and Hepatitis. Seriously. I'm not worried though because the lady that the needle was used on before me, just got a life insurance policy and they made her get tested for everything under the sun and "her blood was clean", so I think I am ok, but still!!! I was SUPER bummed out about it. Then that night we had a dinner party with 2 of Bradley's old mission companions and thier wives, they all live right by us, and it was so fun! We played this game called QUELF, and it is seriously the most fun game I have ever played...TOTALLY hysterical!! You have to check it out. THEN, yesterday on my way to work I got stuck in the snow on a hill, and there were like 8 cars behind me! It was super lame...I had to get out inthe blizzard snow and wind and motion for people to go around...so they all pulled to the side so I could back down the hill, then as they all passed me by, 4 of the cars that passed me got stuck too! So there were cars and snow and craziness everywhere. It was SUPER crappy, but now that I think about it it's pretty funny too. Then I called Bradley SEVEN TIMES and he wouldn't answer! I was LIVID!! :) By the time I got home to get the truck I opened the door and screamed "I'M TAKING THE DA** TRUCK!!!", and then slammed the door. Bradley was like what's going on?!?! It was great :)
